Hello Ozment family! Does anyone have the children of Sarah Neatherey + Jonathan Ozment? Jonathan was born ABT 1774 in Guilford NC to Samuel + Mary. He married Sarah Neatherey b: 1776 (is that her proper surname or a mis-spelling of something else?) on 17 NOV 1799 in Guilford, and died 1829 in Wilson Co TN. Sarah Ozment is listed alone on the 1830 Wilson Co TN census with 7 boys and 7 girls in the house of all ages, 4 of them being <5 years old, which argues for Jonathan dying in 1829, not "ABT 1825" which is the date seen in the Ozment lineage. Sarah does not appear on the 1840 Wilson Co TN census but is listed in the Ozment lineage as died "BEF JAN 1856." Was that the date her Will was probated, or is there some other record that indicates her year of death? Does she appear on a census anywhere in 1850? Samuel's Will reads: B:0472 SAMUEL OZMENT - 9 Apr 1819 - Prb May 1819 Wife - home & land & all I possess during life. Ch: Jonathan, Caty WEATHERLY, Mary CLOMENS ?, Dorkas Ozment, David, Sarah STACK, William, Charles, Leah RUSSELL, Richard - each five shillings Sons: Samuel & John - land after decease of my wife. Exrs: Charles Ozment, William MAYBEN Wits: Richard Ozment, John CARTER I believe Jonathan left Guilford after his father's death, between AUG 1819 and the time of the 1820 census in Wilson Co TN, taking with him wife Sarah and six children born in NC.
