Posted on: OZMENT Wills Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/o/z/OZMENT/wills/6 Surname: OZMENT, CHAMBERS ------------------------- WILL MARY OZMENT Caroline County, MD 31 Aug 1831 - 24 Oct 1840 JP#9 Page 175 In the name of God Amen I Mary Ozment of Caroline County and state and state of Maryland being sick and weak of body but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding Considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle very worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence, do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say, after all my just debts and funeral changes are paid I give and bequeath as follows------ I give and bequeath unto William Chambers son of Samuel Chambers one Roan horse called figure one grey horse called Brandy one bay mare called phenix one yoke of oxen and cart four milk cows six head of hogs four Beds & furniture two Chests and Cherry Desk and all and all other property which I now possess togeahter with all the right title and Estate of and into one fifth part of a tract of land lying and being in Talbot County in Miles river neck within one mile of Miles river ferry called and known by the name of Bennetts Neglect which land decended to me by the death of my brother William Ozment (d. Feb 1821) it is also my will and desire that there shall be no administration on my Estate whatever, and I hereby constitute and appoint my nephew Samuel Chambers hole And sole Executor of this mry last will and Testament and my will is that my Executor shall not be compeled to return an Inventory to the orphans Court but shall be compeled to give bond for the payment of my just debts and Legacy and shall receive a reasonable compensation for all his Troble ratifiing and confirming this and none other as for my last will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this thirty first day of August Eighteen hundred and thirty one. Mary X Ozment seal Signed sealed and declared in the presence of Sarah Jenkins Saly Ann X Cremean Abel Gowty Talbot County, Lst } 24th day of October 1840} Then came Abel Gowty, one the subscribing Page 176 Witnesses to the aforegoing last will and Testament of Mary Ozment late of the County afs"d, dec'd and made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God, that he did see the Testatrix therein named, make her mark to and seal the said will and that he heard her publish, pronounce and declare the same to be her last will & Testament, that at the time of her so doing, she way, to best of his apprehension, of sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding, and that he and Sarah Jenkins severally subscribed their names, and Sally Ann Cremean, made her mark, as witnesses to the same will, in the presence, and at the request of the said Testatrix, and in the presence of each other. ____Cert'd by Ja Price, Reg'r of wills for Talbot County.
