His family is from Kentucky. Do you know him? I am also sending to the Ozment list. What we may have to do is find everyone born around 1790 in North Carolina and list them. The only Ozment listed in North Carolina in the 1790 U.S. Census was John Ozment. At that time he had one son under 16 years of age and a wife and three daughters. The consensus is that he was the father of James Henry (Sr.) b in 1793, Richard b in 1800 and Alfred b in 1805. The first definite record we have of these three sons is in Wilson County, Tennessee where James Henry Sr. and Richard married sisters, Rebecca and Elizabeth Eddins (or Eddings). I do not believe anyone will ever get all the James Ozments in our family straight. There were too many of them named James (and even James H). It is interesting the above is named John A. I have a John Armstrong Ozment [who was the son of Jonathan Ozment and Sarah Nearherey] b abt. 1806 in Guilford County who was married to Martha Hudson on October 17, 1825 in Wilson County. Of course you already know that his father Jonathan was the son of Samuel Ozment whose children included Celia "Sealy," David and John Ozment. I hope I am not confusing you. Lon
