I'm sorry >this was message so long. > >Marsha > Good morning, Marsha & Frank This Richard Ozment "thread" is getting very long. This is one of the problems when researching Richard who migrated from Caroline Co., MD to Guilford Co., NC and his descendants......too many Richards!!!! You may be correct in your belief that the Richard Ozment mentioned in the 1822 Guilford Co. deed (to Campbell) is the one who married Rebecca "Becky" PAVEY. This Richard was, indeed, the son of Samuel Ozment (b. bet. 1755-1756, MD; d. abt. May 1819, Guilford Co., NC). This Richard was also the nephew of my 4th grt.grandfather Richard Ozment, Jr. (a.k.a. Richard 2) who sold land in Caroline Co., MD and purchased land in Guilford Co., NC Nov.4, 1776 (date of indenture of land). Was Celia (Ozment) CARTER the same Celia who married Levi WEATHERLY (Nov. 27, 1799, Guilford Co., NC)? I did not have the marriage to Carter in my records. Re: David and John (1860 census Carlisle Co., KY) who apparently were inumerated with EB and Celia CARTER..... what are their complete surnames? (this appears incomplete in your message, and I don't have access to that KY report). If they were OZMENTs, your following theories are likely correct. I know.... picky, picky, picky! Your correspondance with Elizabeth (starborn@earthlink.net) may help all MD, NC, TN, and KY OZMENT researchers. Very interesting added information on the PAVEYs. You are going to find all those "missing links" one of these days. I also believe your research of the Nicholite records (MD and NC) will be a key to unlocking PAVEY and OZMENT/OSMAN connections. 'Nuff for now. I'm starting to "burn the midnight oil". Dwight 12:10 A.M. EDT Tues. 6/20/00
