Regarding the correction about the death year of John OSMAN in 1824, there was a John OSMENT whose will was probated in Talbot Co., MD in 1822. The probate records state he was 96 years old. Book __, pages 95-96. Dwight, can you supply the book number? There is a record of James and Elizabeth Ozment selling land in Guilford Co., NC in 1801, Book H. page 208. I have not found a record of their marriage. I can't guess which James married Levina in 1820 in Wilson Co. I base my GUESS of James OZMENT (1767-aft 1850) being the father of Cameron, my gggrandfather Thomas (married Mary/Polly Bland in 1817 in Guilford Co. NC), and James H. (married Martha HOLLOWAY in 1825 in Wilson Co., TN) Ozment on the basis 1767 James lived 2 houses from Cameron in the 1850 Wilson Co., TN census. We THINK we know who the sons of Samuel, John and Thomas were. This leaves only Richard and James. James SEEMS to be the only logical one (location and age). If anyone has information to the contrary it would be welcome. This is only guess work. Cameron also had a son, James Harrison Ozment. Cameron (1811 NC-1890 TN) married a daughter, Sofronia Catherine, of Jonathan and Sarah OZMENT 1841 in Wilson Co., TN. Cameron had been married two times before this marriage. Sarah died after 1850 and "all" her children are named in her estate records. Cameron's name is not listed. He is the administrator. Sofronia Catherine is listed as a minor heir in the estate records of her father, Jonathan, who died ca 1825 in Wilson Co., TN. As the Mary Ozment who is listed with James OZMENT (1767-aft 1850) in the 1850 census is much younger (born 1785) she could be a daughter or daughter-in-law as well as a wife. There is a court record in Wilson Co. that states A Mary Ozment died as a pauper in 1857. No way to know if it was the same Mary. Evelyn Thoes
