Film No.: 0989343 N M Ozment & others To) Deed, Registered February 10th 1870 Solomon C. King Whereas by descent from one Wm King, James R. King, Jesse King heirs, E. T. King, Joseph S. King, Pitser M. King, E. D. L. Tims and wife Louisa M & N M Ozment & wife Mary A. M & Wm Wilson & wife Sarah Jane have derived title and now hold equal & undivided interest in two tracts or parcels of land in Hardeman County, State of Tennessee the first tract containing by estimation 122 acres in Range 1, Section 5 of the 9th Surveyors District. Beginning at a stake with a hickory & 2 black oak pointers 20 poles north of the south west corner of an occupant survey for 48 acres made in the name of Josiah Womack and runs west 76 poles to a stake with a post oak & 2 black oak pointers thence north 214 poles to a stake with 3 hickory pointers, thence east 100 poles to a stake with a white oak & 2 swamp oak pointers, thence south 56 poles to a stake with a poplar, white oak & black oak pointers thence east 13 poles to a stake with a black oak & dogwood pointers thence south 54 poles to a stake, thence west 37 poles to a stake with a hickory & black oak pointers, thence south 104 poles to the Beginning. The other tract containing by survey 170 acres, Range 1, Section 5, 10th Surveyors District, Beginning at a black gum hickory, poplar and black oak pointers 50 poles south of the SW corner of Entry No. 1221 for 100 acres made in the name of Robert Box and runs west with the north boundary of occupant survey in the name of James McCan & Ishmael Burrow crossing Piney Creek sundry times in all 136 poles to a beech, thence north with the east boundary line of an occupant survey for acres made in the name of 97 poles to a stake with a maple red oak & sour wood pointers the north east corner of the same, thence west with the north boundary 28 poles to a stake a white oak, red oak & dogwood pointers thence north to and with the east boundary line of Entry No. 387 for 122 acres made in the name of said King in all 120 poles to a stake with a hickory and red oak pointers, thence east with the south boundary line of the same 34 poles to a stake in a field a SE corner thence north with the east boundary line 53 poles to a stake pointers on the south boundary line of Entry No. 388 for 305 acres in the name of William McGee, thence east with the same eleven poles to a stake with ptrs, thence south with a divisional line made between said W King and William McGee 21 poles to a white oak sapling with ptrs, thence east with said McGee line 31 poles to a willow oak with ptrs, thence south with the same 111 poles to a maple with ptrs, thence east with the same 88 poles to a stake with ptrs on the west boundary line of said entry No. 1221 for 100 acres thence south with said line and the west boundary line of an occupant survey for 200 acres made in the name of Hiram Rogers crossing said Creek at 96 in all 138 poles to the Beginning. Now we have bargained and sold and do hereby transfer & convey all outright, title & interest including remainder interest in said lands to Solomon C. King for the amount of three hundred dollars to us paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged to have and hold the same to the said S C King, his heirs and assigned forever, we covenant & bind ourselves our heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said lands against the lawful claims of all persons whatever this 23 day of February 1867. Ozment, wife of N. M. Ozment having personally appeared before me and having, by virtue of authority, in me vested been examined privately and apart from their said husbands they having acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed by them freely, voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint by their same husbands and for the purposes therein expressed the same is therefore certified. Witness my hand and seal this the 22nd day of January 1871 A W Skinner State of Tennessee Hardeman County Personally appeared before me R G Crawford, Deputy Clerk of the County Court of said County, J. M. Ozment and James R. King, subscribing witnesses to the annexed deed who after being duly sworn depose and say that they are acquainted with N. M. Ozment & E. D. L. Tims the bargainers and heard them acknowledge the due execution of the same to be their act and deed for the purposes therein contained and to have been done on the day of its date. I further certify that the said deed is stamped with 50 cents revenue stamps and the said stamps cancelled as the law requires. Given under my hand at office in Bolivar this 9 day of February 1870.
