Eleanor, The "V. OZMENT" listed in 1850 census (town of Rusk, Cherokee Co. TX) apparently is Varnum OZMENT who lived in Purdy, McVairy Co., TN before moving to TX by 1850. "James" apparently is James Wisdom OZMENT, his son, who lived in Palestine, Anderson Co., TX later. SOURCE: Evelyn J.Thoes. I also have a note in my database for Varnum OZMENT which says he "lived in Shelby Co., IN about 1820-1835 (see Land Patent Report, Document #20555, 40 acres, AUTH: April 24, 1820, Cash entry sale SIGNATURE DATE: October 28, 1835".
