This is a question for the Cooke Co, TX Ozment researchers or anyone else who might know. I found indications of a Samuel Ozment dying in Cooke County before 1860 with Byron Yarborough as administrator, Box 20. Found this on the Cooke Co Genweb site listed under probate records. Then I find Byron Yarborough married to a Calafornia Ozment on 05 Oct 1855 in Cooke Co, TX. I have a feeling that Calafornia was the widow of Samuel. They are then found on the 1860 Lampasas Co, TX census. Calafornia is now age 33, birthplace unknown. There are two Ozment (spelled Osment here) children, Savanah, age 12, born MS and Martha, age 10, born TX. So who is this Samuel, Calafornia, Savanah and Martha. Could Samuel be a son of John Lafayette Ozment? Eleanor Colson
