Hello, I am seeking information on any Ozments who settled in Cooke County, TX. I am not a direct descendant but they married into my line (Burns). M.M. Ozment was the sheriff of Cooke County in the 1870's and was a neighbor, and appointed a legal guardian of my ggrandfather in 1877. I think they came from TN. Yours truly Clyde W. While doing the marriage page for the Ozment website, I ran across this marriage: Thomas J. OZMENT m. Sarah B. JONES, 17 Sept 1849, Davidson Co, TN Now I'm confused because I have Daniel Jasper Ozment, son of (James) Thomas Ozment, married to Sarah Brooks Jones. I also have a mention of Sarah Brooks Jones, wife of Jasper Ozment, being buried at Sugg's Creek Cem in Wilson Co, TN. So which is correct? Is he Daniel Jasper Ozment or Thomas Jasper Ozment?
