Dear Mike, > Lost Martha TAPLIN born 1822 Lower Heyford after her entry in the 1841 > census in Lower Heyford. > I have found a marriage > > TAPLIN, Martha > Woodstock,Oxfordshire > 1842 Jul-Aug-Sep > Volume 16 Page 225 > > HOLLIS, William > LEE, Edward > NORGROVE, William > SIMONS, John > > BADLEY, Jane = LEE ? > STURCH, Priscilla = HOLLIS ? > WYATT, Sarah > ... These marriages are all in Deddington - at first I was surprised by that, but then given the way you found them, they have to be in one place, in sequence. That is probably a good way in principle to track them down, but I must admit I didn't do it that way. Anyway: William Norgrove married Sarah Wyatt Edward Lee married Martha Taplin (10 July 1842; Martha, full age, otp, d. John) John Simons married Jane Badley William Hollis married Priscilla Sturch I still don't think I can find Martha as Martha Lee. I note an Edward Lee died in Woodstock reg dist in June quarter 1843 (but he seems to be 79, buried at Wootton near Woodstock), and a Martha Lee married in Witney r.d. in the same quarter (but she married as a spinster in Ducklington, and was born in that placed according to the 1851 census.) Perhaps you will have better luck. Best wishes Paul -- Paul Betteridge, Leafield, Oxfordshire pbetteridge@pobox.com

The handwriting is amongst the worst I've ever seen, hence the queries. Please check the image for yourself if you can, or let me know if you need it to be sent. For reference, Ancestry has them under the surname LOS, whilst FMP has LEES.
