    3. Duttons Farm, Asthall Leigh, was farmed by Philip Gould (My great uncle) who married Kitty Fenemore daughter of Joseph and then farmed Duttons Farm, but there were no offspring. They lived in Minster Lovell in retirement. Philip formerly farmed Peashell Farm, Curbridge with his brothers James and Ernest, although their father, William Thomas, actually lived at Stanhope Cottage, Curbridge. 3. According to the 1873 Return of Landowners, the Fenemores at that time only owned just over 1 acre in the Witney area. They were much bigger farmers in the Launton area where they had a couple of holdings totaling about 80 acres and another acre in the Steeple Aston area. http://www.genoot.com/eng/oxf/landowners/landowner_e-f.html On Wed, Aug 1, 2012 at 11:47 PM, Catherine Hitchens <catherine.lordlandry@yahoo.co.uk> wrote: > Duttons Farm, Asthall Leigh, was farmed by Philip Gould (My great uncle) > who married Kitty Fenemore daughter of Joseph and then farmed Duttons Farm, > but there were no offspring. They might have been tenants of a lot of land in Astall Leigh - it would not show up in the Return of Owners etc, if they didn't actually own it.
