Hi All I am trying to find the 1861 census entry(ies) for John Tinson (1823) his wife Matilda (1825 Artiss) son John Henry (1845) and daughter Elizabeth (1851) In 1851 census they are in Rock Hill,Chipping Norton,OXF. They have a son William born 1854 died 1857 Chipping Norton. Next heard of registering there son William James in 1864 in Stourbridge,WOR In 1871 John is in High St,Harborne,STS and Matilda in Union Terrace Gullet,Stourbridge,WOR and son John Henry Amblecote,Oldswinford,WOR.   Mike Fisher in Droitwich

Mike On the 1851 census, Matilda is showns as being born in Cheltenham, Gloucs. But on the 1871 census the Matilda in Union Terrace is said to have been born in Oxfordshire somewhere (can't identify the location). Are you sure these are the same Matildas? HI So what you are saying is that Matilda Artiss who marries John Tinson on 24 Dec 1845 St Mary the Virgin Chipping Norton (John fa bach ostler Chipping Norton so Michael Shoemaker Matilda fa spin Chipping Norton do Joseph lab wit: William & Elizabeth Tinson) and is baptised 20 Mar 1825 Wesleyan,Chipping Norton is not the Matilda in the 1851 census ?
