    1. [OXF] Samuel FOX , a Quaker, ejected from Westminster Abbey ( 1893 )
    2. >From Jackson's Oxford Journal, Saturday, August 5, 1893; Issue 7323. AN OXFORDSHIRE QUAKER EJECTED FROM WESTMINSTER ABBEY. An extraordinary scene took place on Sunday during the afternoon service in Westminster Abbey. Samuel FOX , a Quaker, of Charlbury, who is well known to the attendants for his persistent efforts to remain covered during Divine service, declining to remove his hat, was, after a violent struggle, forcibly ejected. It required the efforts of four of the vergers to remove him from the building. FOX is well known in this county, where he has addressed several meetings on the subject.
