Thank you Wendy and Paul for the very helpful advice. I certainly would not have thought to take passport photos to get a CARN ticket (never had to before). I have to confess I find the length of the journey between Cambridge & Oxford quite daunting so I may have to consider using the OFHS or RO search services in the short term until I can spend a few days nearer to Oxford itself. Whatever I do, the advice has been very gratefully received and will be put to good purpose.
