Hello again Jill I'm not sure if I answered this email or not, as I have quite a few, for which I thank you. There does seem to be some confusion regarding Weald Manor south west of the church, almost out of the village and the Manor House which is north west of the church. The Coxeter and Kirke mentions fit well with Weald Manor, but as for the 1841 census, this would be the Manor/Mansion House that became the school, so I am still none the wiser as to who was living at Weald Manor in 1841. Thanks for your time and attention and the info below at least gives us some info about the origins of Weald Manor and its land. Kind regards Pam On 10/08/2011 15:51, Jill Muir wrote: > Hello Pam, > I have looked for Kirke and Coxeter [ just in case] in Bampton and have not > found any. Pam Have you tried looking in one of the directories, such as Kelly's or Pigot's, for that period?
