I assume you have the death certificate already? Coroners' reports are the personal property of the coroner and many were destroyed by coroners. Penny There are substantial numbers of coroners' files created by the various Oxford City and Oxfordshire coroners held in the Oxfordshire Record Office. Meanwhile, for some earlier periods when files do not survive, there are a limited number of coroners' calendars that contain some useful information. The records of coroners are generally subject to a 75 year closure period. The third edition of "Coroners' Records in England and Wales" by Jeremy Gibson and Colin Rogers, which is published by and available from the "Family History Partnership" - _www.familyhistorypartnership.com_ (http://www.familyhistorypartnership.com) - will give further guidance. I hope that helps. Paul Gaskell Publicity Officer Oxfordshire Family History Society Website : _www.ofhs.org.uk_ (http://www.ofhs.org.uk)
