    3. My ancestor Samuel Field died at Thame Oxfordshire in 1794. His grandson, also Samuel Field, died 27 August 1876. It was stated in 1904 that this grandson was buried at Thame in the Vault where his father and grandfather were buried. Was it standard procedure to engrave the Vault with the last person's information and or was the coffin inside identified as to whom it contained? I have the Wills for the above people and there is no mention of the Vault being passed on or would it be included as "Real and Personal Estate" and the like? The wife of the first mentioned Samuel died in 1832, some 38 years after her husband. Would it have been acceptable at that time for her to be buried in the Vault? Thanks in advance for any answers to these questions. Spencer Field Calgary Canada
