There is one report in Jackson's Oxford Journal of Saturday, 17th July 1852. It says: 'BAMPTON. A young man of Clanfield named Clack, lost his life by drowning, at Radcott, on Saturday last. He left his companions while at dinner on that day, and went to bathe, and unfortunately got out of his depth, and was drowned before assistance could be rendered him. An inquest was held the same day, and, after the evidence had been given, the Jury returned a verdict of "Accidental death".' But maybe not enough information for you really.
