On Wednesday in the Evening a Trial came on at Guildhall, before the Lord Chief Justice KING; between Francis FOSSET , of the City of Oxford, Blacksmith, Plaintiff; and Mr. CHILD , A Gentleman-Commoner in the University, Defendant; the latter being convicted of seducing and corrupting the Plaintiff's Wife, carrying her away from her Husband, to Guildford in Surry, and from thence to London, and cohabiting with her as Man and Wife; the Jury brought in a Verdict for the Plaintiff, with 300 Pounds Damages, besides Costs of Suit.
