>From Jackson's Oxford Journal, Saturday, January 5, 1822; Issue 3584. OXFORDSHIRE ( To Wit. ) Whereas I, ELIZABETH HADLAND , of the parish of Marston, in the county of Oxford, widow, did most maliciously and wickedly spread evil and scandalous reports tending to injure the character and good fame of Elizabeth SIMS , of the parish of Marston aforesaid, married woman, and to lessen the affection of her husband towards her, without any truth or foundation whatever; and, upon promise of the said Elizabeth SIMS not to prosecute the said Elizabeth HADLAND , in the Spiritual Court, or by action of Common Law, she asks pardon for her offence, and faithfully promises never to offend in like manner in future.
