    2. >From Jackson's Oxford Journal, Saturday, January 5, 1822; Issue 3584. Whereas we, John SPYERS and John WHARTON , of Great Haseley, in the county of Oxford, labourers, having grossly insulted the family of Mr. PARTRIDGE , of Lobb Farm, in the said parish, and raised a scandalous report of the daughter and maid-servant of the said Mr. PARTRIDGE , for which he has justly commenced a prosecution against us, but upon condition of our publicly acknowledging our faults, he has agreed to stop proceedings against us ;- Now we do hereby acknowledge that the said report is false and unfounded, and return him our thanks for the lenity shewn us.
