Hi again Just to say thank you to all who replied .I appreciate your suggestions and your interest. The marriage or banns were recorded in the Oxfordshire Archdeacon's Marriage Bond .The year was 1680. I presumed that Rotherfield Peppard was the place of marriage but Jean Hodges has informed me that that was where John came from not where the marriage took place. I have a copy of the marriage index for Shiplake (another village where the Jemmetts dwelled) ,but no luck there either. I have answered Jean's emails off line .
