    2. Anne Chapman
    3. Hi Listers, My query is to ascertain if there are any members living at Wolvercote or close by, that may be able to visit the Cemetery, at their convenience to see if there are any Horne graves evident from Headstones. I am very doubtful if the one I am looking for, William Horne, bur 1742, would have a readable inscription, if in fact there was a marker on the grave. There was quite a big family of these Horne's at Wolvercote, particularly stemming from one branch of the Bishops Itchington, (Warwickshire) family. Two in particular were Butchers, Richard & Robert. Anyone who stems from any of this family, I would dearly love to hear from, but anyone who can help in any way would be very welcome. TIA Anne

There's a long list of other visiting societies, along with sellers of software, postcards, second hand books, maps, etc. Attendees are listed at http://www.wsfhs.org/Attendees2011.htm , which starts "Do YOU have an ancestor in Italy, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Glamorgan, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Huntingdonshire, Kent, London, Manchester, Middlesex, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex or Wiltshire? If so, visit the Society's OPEN DAY" It's always good to meet OXF list & OFHS members, and I look forward to seeing some of you later today. There are other opportunities to meet OFHS next year, in Bracknell, London & Oxford - see http://www.ofhs.org.uk/#meetus If you live further afield, our home page at www.ofhs.org.uk gives links to our CD & book sales, our Search Services and our HelpDesk. 1. [OXF] Richard HILL, First Schoolmaster of Kingston Bagpuize, Berkshire
    2. Jill Muir
    3. I am researching the first schoolmaster here at Kingston Bagpuize, one Richard Hill who was chosen by John Blandy and certified as a schoolmaster in June 1737. I cannot find the baptism or any other information regarding Richard HILL who was replaced by another master about 1758. I believe that this is his marriage at Kingston Bagpuize, then in Royal Berkshire. April 13th 1737. Richard HILL married Anne PEAD. It does not say but I have a feeling she was a widow. A Henry PEAD died and was buried in Kingston Bagpuize on 6th Jan 1733. I am assuming that he was probably Anne's first husband but of course he could have been related in another way. Someone seems to have found the baptism for me of Henry PEAD in Marcham 26-19-1694 but no baptism is showing except on FamilySearch for Richard Hill. Can someone help please?
