By now, I expect you will have discovered your grandmother was Catherine Shillcock. Her sister, Jessica, was my maternal grandmother. I never knew her as she died when my mother was 4, but I am just beginning a quest to see if I can find a photograph of her. Have you found that the variety of spellings of this surname make census research difficult?! I do hope that we will be able to put our heads together to get a fuller picture of their history. Sadly, Mum (born Joan Tyrer in 1925, Married to Denys Lyon in 1947) died 2 years ago ~ she would have been so excited to know of you!
