SHERMANS DALE "Porter L. OWINGS, 85, of 145 Old State Road, died Monday in Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He retired from the former Harrisburg Steel Co. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia CLEGG OWINGS; three sons, Gerald L. of Mechanicsburg, David R. of Carlisle and Dale J. of Shermans Dale; two daughters, Rosalie M. ISRAEL and Betty L. OWINGS, both of Shermans Dale; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Carroll Twp. Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Shermans Dale Fire Company, 5450 Spring Road, Shermans Dale 17090, or Shermans Dale Ambulance, P.O.
