He was born about 1833 in MO. Ephraim married a Sarah Unknown (possibly Sarah Johnson), She was born in Indiana in about 1835. Ephraim and Sarah had a daughter named Missouri F Owings, born about 1857 in Missouri. This family is found in the 1850 and 1860 Censuses for Sullivan County, Indiana (IN). My question about this family is this: Who is the Sarah Unknown that Ephraim married? Was it Sarah Johnson? Is this the Sarah Johnson who was the daughter of Hugh Johnson, who was the son of William Johnson, both of whom died in Sullivan County, Indiana? What happened to this family? 2nd Family: The second family is the Elias and Sarah Owings family. This family can be found in the 1850 Census for Lincoln County, Missouri (MO). Elias was born about 1815 in Kentucky (KY). He is married to a Sarah Unknown (possibly Sarah Johnson), who was born about 1827 in Indiana (N). They have several children, including Nancy J, Sarah F, Mary A, Alfred, and Elias. Living with this family in the 1850 Census for Lincoln County, MO, is a Alfred Johnson, possibly the son of Hugh Johnson and grandson of William Johnson, both of whom died in Sullivan County, Indiana. Can anyone clear up this mystery for me? Can anyone tell me the maiden names of these two Sarah Owings? Can anyone tell me who the parents of these two Sarahs are? I don't think that the two Sarahs are the same person, given that Ephraim and Sarah Owings family lived in Sullivan County, Indiana, in 1850, while the Elias and Sarah Owings family was living in Lincoln County, MO, in 1850.
