Owings, Sr., age 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Heartland Nursing and Rehab in Marion, Ohio. He was born on May 14, 1915, in Wyandot County, Ohio to the late Alonzo and Edna Owings. He is predeceased by wife, Hazel (Foos) Owings; father and mother-in-law, Benjamin and Bessie Foos; sisters-in-law, Mildred Cook, Thelma Wolf, and Rosie Foos; brothers-in-law, John Shroats, Ralph Courtney, Ray Crook, George Wolf, Dale Foos, Donald Leeper, Everett Foos, and Paul Klingel; and friend, Mary Somerlot. Survived by sons, Pete (Princess) Owings, Larry (Carol) Owings, Jerry (Donna) Owings; sisters, Ethel Marie Shroats and Juanita Courtney; sisters-in-law, Betty Klingel, Frances Foos, and Elsie Leeper. Kenny has eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenny's passion in life was farming which he pursued until his retirement. He enjoyed playing euchre, pinochle, and pool. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home. Kenny will be cremated and burial will follow in the spring.
