George W. and David Owings. Capt. George W. Owings pension application is VA581. They both were stationed at Iron Banks Fort Jefferson near Wickcliffe, KY during the Revolution. They were taken by siege by Chickasaw Indians - George was burned alive over several days. George's wife was Charity (last name unknown). Sons George C. Owings and Thomas Owings.
