Addison's research lists Archibald, but, was not able to name his children. Archibald is the son of William "Coon Billy" and Elizabeth Parsons Owings. Melmoth is my line and he and his family left SC c 1840 to MS and were found again in Floyd Co., GA 1860 and thereafter found in SC. If you know of any of the siblings named below I would be interested in the connections. This notice was taken from The Laurensville Herald, January 28th 1859. The State of South Carolina Laurens District In Ordinary Whereas J.B. Owens (Probably should be Greenberry as he was an administrator to William's estate.)and William Owens, Adm'rs of the estate of Wm. Owens, sen.,des'd, have applied to me to have the Estate of said dec'd settled, and it appearing to my satisfaction that the following defendants reside without and beyond the limits of this state, to wit: J.B. Owens, John Owens, Harriet, wife of John Morgan, Mary, wife of James Morgan, Young Owens, Richard Owens, Isaac Owens, and one other whos name is unknown. It is therefore ordered that they do appear in the Court of Ordinary, to be holden at Laurens C H., for Laurens District, on the 12th day of May next, and object, or their concent to the same will be entered into record.
