And yes, this tree hs not been fleshed out in the book. We are both researching the same tree Richard & Sarah Hellams, Richard & Nancy Campbell Owings, William & Mary Robertson Owings. Yes, either Mancil or Manoah is a good guess for the middle initial. Of the the last couple - three carried the Manoah middle name - namesake of Manoah Robertson (sometimes spelled Robersone). A R.M. Owings is listed on the 1860 Slave Schedule - Richard Mancil Owings would have been about 70 in 1860. Could be Robertson Manoah Owings - he would be about 45, Could be Richard Manoah Owings - he would be about 29. By 1884, a Richard M. Owings is in Liverpool and marries Elizabeth Kevitt 1/1/1885.
