Born on February 25, 1945 in Mansfield, Ohio (Richland County) she was the daughter of Jack Ceries and Ann (Davis) Owings. Gaylene attended Ohio University and went on to work and retire from United Telephone, later known as Sprint. In her free time, she enjoyed working on her horse farm, canning, baking, beekeeping, and gardening. She loved to travel with her husband. Gaylene attended Crossroads Community Church. Surviving are her brother, William Owings of Mansfield; nephews, Bryan Owings of Mansfield and Ross Owings of Mansfield; step-son, George W. Ullinskey, Jr. of Columbus; numerous cousins; and many friends from work and organizations that Gaylene was a part of. Gaylene was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George W. Ullinskey, Sr. and her parents. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Family and friends are invited to call two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Burial will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery.
