Barnett is the son of Jonathan Kellett Owings and Mary. Jonathan Kellet Owings is the son of Archibald Owings b. 1774, and Jane Kellett. Archibald Owings is the son of Richard Owings, IV and Sarah Hellams. Richard and Sarah died in Laurens, and I presume that many of their children were born there.
