He is said to have married Ann Wells, daughter of Joseph Wells and Susannah B. Tevis. George and Ann had several children. At least two of the children, Perry Owings and Mary Catherine Owings,ended up in Arkansas. Mary Catherine Owings married Samuel Bailey and they raised a good sized family in the Van Buren and Prairie Counties of Arkansas.
