Most of you know that I headed a project in 2001/2002 to reprint Addison Owings' book "Captain Richard Owings And Allied Families" and scanned the book to CD ROM (for those who don't know, I distribute that CD for $15). I have just found out that Edition 3 was the last but was not inclusive, that there was data and people in Editions 1 & 2 that were left out in Edition 3, I assume due to size (Edition 3 is 750+ pages). Dropped in Edition 3 was, of course my line for the sin of spelling their name as Owens. I don't know how much data was dropped but would like to find out. Finding Editions 1 & 2 buyng them will not be easy and a bit costly in time and money to create CD's for each. I was wondering if there was any interest on the mailing list. So my questions are: 1) How much would you pay for a copy of Edition 1 in book form (a reprint like we did for Edition 3) 2) How much would you pay for same Edition on CD ROM1) How much would you pay for a copy 3) How much would you pay for a copy of Edition 2 in book form (a reprint like we did for Edition 3) 4) How much would you pay for same Edition on CD ROM I would suggest they same plan as last time. If there is enough interest (read that to be checks miled to me), I would head the project again and deliver the product. Thoes in the last project know that my word is my bond and I am more than willing to pass along my list of everyone I sold a book to for you to check. You know Addison passed away in Jan 2002 and his wife, Elizabeth, preceded him in June of 2000. I chatted with his son and got the OK to CD the 3rd edition and would do likewise on the other 2. He indicated his interest level did not include a 4th edition. If anyone out there is willing to commit to a 4th edition, I will pass along contact information adn see if he would work with you. That project is not for me. So let me know about your thoughts on this matter. I have the computer skills to pull this off and willing to spend the time. It is the funds that concern me. Lastly, I would appreciate your GEDCOM's on you Owings line. Will take your whole GEDCOM on break off what I need. I included an up to date GEDCOM on the Addison tree on the CD ROM and wish it to be as inclusive as possible.
