I talked to Addison before his death when I got his OK to reprint the book. He determined that anyone who changed the spelling from Owings to Owens would not be tracked very far. In the 2nd edition (I have never seen a 1st edition) he came all the way to my great grandmother, Susan Owens Brasington. In his 3rd edition, he only went as far as her grandfather. Part of the reason he dropped the line was the size of the book. Both are around 750 pages. There may be other branches dropped. I basically was tracking just mine. The 2nd edition was typed while the 3rd (final0 edition was type set. The 2nd edition pages are not quite as readable and I scanned them out of bound book, so there are the black shadows around the edges, absent from the 3rd edition scans. I will let you know when I am done. I have scanned all 750+ pages and am working on the navigation now.
