Richard Woodward (of Calloway Co., Ky) is most like the one "thought" to be Lucinda's father in the book that you cite. For those who have studied the Woodward's in that county for a long while, it would appear that James would be the likely candidate. It is suspected by many of us researching that area that James from Calloway Co, Ky and Richard Woodward, just across the river in Robertson Co., Tn were brothers out of Wake Co., Tn. I just recently recieved the will of Richard Woodward from the Tennessee Archives, and he lists his DAUGHTER Lucinda among many other children. Several of Richard's children lived in Calloway Co, Ky, and that is why I suspect that the author of the book did what many of us did, and confused some of Richard's children as being James'. You can view the will on that board just by signing up as a member. If is a free board, with a discussion regarding Woodwards of Wake Co., NC Thank you so much for your response! Donna

Most, if not all, of what I have came from Addison and Elizabeth OWINGS' book, OWINGS and ALLIED FAMILIES. I was not able to find the will of Richard WOODWARD since the Yahoo family group is a membership surname group. I have Ludinda's father as James WOODWARD. Is that correct? If so, Is Richard her brother, grandfather, or.....? Email me directly at [email protected] if I can help you in any way with descendants or ancestors of her family (although I information only on the acestral line of Ephraim OWINGS, not the WOODWARD line).

They appear in the Logan Co, Ky census in 1840, and the Calloway Co, Ky census 1850-1870. I believe that Lucinda might be the daughter Lucinda mentioned in the will (21 February 1839) of Richard Woodward of Robertson Co., Tn. For those of you researching this couple, you can see the entire contents of Richard Woodward's will at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Woodwards-of-Wake/ Please email me if your would like to share information on this couple. You can see this from Edward's will. He died in 1789 and then there is an addition on to his Will when Ruth died in 1795. If I remember right, it is in Will Book No. 2, page 244 of the Baltimore County Wills in the Maryland State Archives. I am a decendant of Edward's son Ormand. Let me know what branch of his line you are from and I will be happy to share what I have. I have been researching this line for about 10 years now. Michael Osler

his is my last bulk email. Sorry if you get this more than once. I will finish Release 1 of Addison's book to CD ROM. It contains the entire book scanned from a proof and a new index. The Index in the book is hard enough to read but when I scan, it was worse. I have the index in an excel spreadsheet. The index will also allow a direct click to the page of the book it is on. The index contains the date and place born to facilitate. I have added some corrections and additions that Elizabeth Owings sent to me in her last letter to me. If you are still interested, email back your current mailing address and drop a check in the mail, $15 a copy, which includes postage. While be finished with improved index by end of this week. I am almost finished the huge task of scanning Addison Family Book. My plans(with an OK from Addison's son) is to sell it for $15 a copy, delivered by US Mail. I bought an unbound copy of the book with this in mind. Looks good to me. If you want one, let me know. With this in mind, I will gladly include any corrections and/or additions to it that you want to share. Keep in mind, I do intend to SELL this CD ROM so if that bothers you, don't send me your data.
