Dee ,,, the fastest and easiest way to manipulate the "Read" / "Unread" numbers is while in that folder, click on Edit / Select All (you must select 1 message before the "Select All" option will be available) ,,, then Edit / Mark As Read or Unread. All highlighted messages will be changed to "Read" or "Unread". Don't worry about selecting a message that is already the way you want it, wont hurt a thing. You can change the "Read" / "Unread" status back and forth to suit your needs.
