The main problem with trying to use OE and Netscape simultaneously for mail is that they don't share inboxes, and you can't really tell one "only download digests" and the other "download everything but digests". For the most part, the two programs do pretty much the same stuff, pretty much the same way. The "inline digest" issue is the only significant difference I've ever found.
