Priority , flags, attachment clip, all came pre installed on every version I have installed . Only thing I ever had to use the columns for was stuff after the received column size/sent/to . Using the TO column helps if you dont want to filter every thing , you can see who its to and click on the To column they will all gather, then you can highlight them and move them to some other folder where you might like them. You can change the column size by using the mouse and left click on the line and drag it larger or smaller.
