I have been using OE since its very first beta, and I was on the beta list too , I have never once heard of an attachment opening by its self. I also now have 52 lists and am on 68 or more and have never had 1 problem with OE other than running it with 2 gigs in my mail folders or trying to build too many folders , if you want to learn how to tax it past its limits , I have done that <G> With the security settings , up dated patches , anti virus programs there is nothing much to worry about . Also set your preview pane not to download the message while viewing , that is in the options Dan For Virus/Spam/Firewall/help on win or Outlook Express http://www.wvi.com/~wb/VirusHelp.html All my lists have a website to share data - ask ----- Original Message ----- From: "Diana Boothe" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 06, 2001 12:28 PM Subject: Re: [OE] Digest Mode > I would like to know the answer to this one, as > well.................especially since I don't really like to receive > "attachments" and I could block them in OE, if it were not for my > digests......does anyone have an answer for us?? But, but, but..............DAN!! I don't have the preview pane set to open.............don't like it, not one bit......but TRUST me..............upon downloading the e-mail from my server, it also (apparently) opens the attachment, otherwise I wouldn't get Norton's pretty red and yellow screen that says it has found a really pretty virus..........got 3 BadTrans yesterday and a Snow White the day before........if it doesn't OPEN the attachment when downloading, how does Norton know it's there BEFORE I open it?? (PS....I know better than to open them, especially since I joined this really great modemers list) Diana ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dan" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 06, 2001 3:35 PM Subject: Re: [OE] Digest Mode > I have been using OE since its very first beta, and I was on the beta list > too , I have never once heard of an attachment opening by its self. > I also now have 52 lists and am on 68 or more and have never had 1 > problem with OE other than running it with 2 gigs in my mail folders or > trying to build too many folders , if you want to learn how to tax it past > its limits , I have done that <G> > > With the security settings , up dated patches , anti virus programs there > is nothing much to worry about .
