RELIEF! I tried everything that anyone suggested regarding alphabetizing "My documents" after I wrote the below: ------- Quote, My document folder file icons/lists are constantly disordering themselves (un-alphabetizing themselves). They do this almost immediately after I have been thru the "resort the icons" by name procedure unquote ----- I found the answer here entitled, "Items in 'Open' and 'Save As' Dialog Boxes Sorted Incorrectly." and the Cause as "This behavior can occur if the sort order in Windows Explorer is changed from the default order."
