The messages boxes were empty. I have also received at east 25 empty posts with absolutely no info as well. I have also contacted support for my ISP, and have heard zilch... Can some one advise me about any other steps to take? These are aggravating , and time consuming. I ama RootsWeb listhostess, and I am concerned about how this will affect my reputation as a manager. 3. It is very plain that your ISP has a very screwed up mail server, and until they admit it and fix it, we can beat OE to death and still not accomplish a thing. Your ISP's mail software is making a halfhearted attempt to handle the message and for some reason just quits or filters out the remaining part of the message. It is apparent from what you do get that these blanks are bounce messages from RootsWeb and your ISP does not want to deliver them intact. What you should get in the body would be in two parts, the first part at the top would be the original bounce information from the ISP that bounced the message and giving the reason why it was bounced. The second part is the original headers that was in the message when it bounced. ,,,,,, Then when you go to the message Properties you can extract the second set of headers generated when RW sent you the bounce notice. I took the following from your ISP site: Filtering Philosophy One of the unique features of Integrity Online is that we filter objectionable material. We do that through two different systems. First, we block searches for inappropriate words, and secondly, we block access to inappropriate sites. We believe you will find the filter to be very effective ,,,,,,,, end quote More than likely your ISP also filters viruses & spammers, and believe it or not, RW ends up on a lot of lists as being a spammer due to the very large volume of mail they send out. You are going to have to have it out with your ISP as to why they will not deliver mail from RW intact, specifically, the bounce notices. Bob Hays

    3. Thank you so much for the explanation. I spent yesterday sending headers to my ISP... every one that came through my computer for each address...we have five!...tee hee hee. I e-mailed support and told them what was happening and that I would send them the headers for examination. After the five-day down time last week, and another "bounce" problem that has been unresolved for several months, I let them know that I was disappointed in the decline of support quality I had recently observed, and would continue to send each header until the situation was resolved..... I stayed busy...the situation seems to be resolved, now, but I still haven't heard from them. They are growing, but I don't think I can cope with their growing pains much longer...I have already been through growing pains with my son (now 11 days shy of 17!)... Not all of the messages I received empty were RootsWeb related, but most were because RootsWeb is the major source of my e-mail. My son received a few, as did my husband, and they don't subscribe to any RootsWeb lists. {I am also known to them for requesting that sites be blocked /unblocked from time-to-time, which they have been very faithful to accommodate as they can.} I spent the rest of my time researching ISPs... I do believe that my other bounce problem may have resolved, too. when I came home from my husband's class last night, I had a post from a cousin i had been trying to reach for several months along with some other e-mail contacts. Praise GOD! I had been sending complaints and headers about that problem, too. If you think you can suggest a good reliable ISP that will filter trash without being "buggy", I will send you a list of "perks" I am investigating. I have been keeping my eyes and ears alert to everything I see, and am trying to narrow my choices. Again, I truly appreciate your help. Jennifer Braswell learning more each day...
