Well Jennifer ,, you have lost me, cannot figure out what you are doing to open these msg.s. You said "some times the titles in the boxes" did you really mean this to be plural ?? (more than one box) You said "are in very narrow slits" ,, plural again, this indicates that each msg. is in a window by itself. When I open a digest, all the msg.s are listed in one window and you scroll up/down to view the titles. I need a detailed step by step account of how you get to these digest msg.s . If you are interested, there is a very simple, fast way to extract these msg.s from the digest so you will not have to deal with them in digest form (for OE 5+ only) . The steps required is no more than what is required to open an individual msg. from the digest and once extracted, they are no different than any other single email msg., one click to read contents. Hello Bob, I know exactly what Jennifer means. When I had OE 4.1 the digests opened up with the paper clip, on the right hand end of the preview pane. When I installed OE 5 and now the beta version 6 the right hand paperclip only opens some of the digest mode emails, it seems that if you have half a page or less the paper clip works. This is only almost so. Some times Lincsgen wont open by the clip for a week or more and Suffolkgen will, then again IOWgen usually opens. I wish that Bill music and gates could find just a bit of room to provide a page or two within his programs that could be clicked upon and it would open up the page with all of the parts named just so we user folks could talk intelligently about the frustrations of various program products. Sorry I got off topic. Jennifer spoke of the narrow slit. When the paper clip does not open the digest we have to double click on the digest mode email this then opens in this slit she so wisely spoke of. If you get the narrow slit you could see only the bottom half of the upper email and the top of the bottom email if you highlight the bottom email it will rise so you can see all of it. Then you can use the up and down arrows on the right hand end. Some times you get a wider slit where you can see almost three emails, but top and bottom are as above described. If you have a solution that will make the paper clip open all digest mode email, I believe thousands will be eternally gratefull. Good description Sheldon ,, now I know which window she is talking about, which is what I suspected but wanted to be sure. About all I can say is you have a buggy program and about all you can do is run the repair utility. If that doesn't fix it, then uninstall OE and reinstall it.(last ditch action only) Only one msg at a time can be opened from the paper clip ,,, by left clicking on a msg in the expanded list you get a pop up box with an option to Open or Save To Disk. When you dbl. click on a digest msg. it opens with a list of msg.'s displayed in a small window. It should display 3 msg.'s in the window, but can be made to display 6 by dragging one end of the page outwards to make the page wider.,,,,,,,,,,,, At this point, you can open one msg. at a time to read its' contents. In a digest with many msg.'s, count the key strokes and time involved to open and read 10 msg.'s. OR, you can highlight all the msg.'s, then drag and drop them into any folder under "Local Folders" ,,, from that folder, a single click on each msg. will open it so you can read its' contents, reply to it, print it or what ever. Compare this to the method above for 10 msg.s ,,, doing this does not destroy the digest, you still have the digest just as you received it. you can keep the extracted msg.'s and delete the digest or keep the digest and delete all extracted msg.'s or keep both or delete both. OR, you can select the digest, then do Ctrl+F3 ,, expand page to full screen, and read the entire digest and all msg.'s as one continuos page, but cannot reply or single out any one msg. to take action on. I do not know if any of the above will work in OE6, but will work in OE5+ Bob Hays _________________________________ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Seldon Parker" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, April 13, 2001 9:33 PM Subject: Re: [OE] Tiny little slits > Hello Bob, > I know exactly what Jennifer means.
