Okay, Bob. I meant it like you do. I was just thinking many digests( I subscribe to so many), so many boxes(slits)..... I know I can set it to allow me to read them the other way, but I don't like to scroll and scroll, etc. I like to be able to pick and choose. That is not my complaint. I just want to know why sometimes the box that lists the titles is so narrow at times and some times not. (more than one box) : You said "are in very narrow slits" ,, plural again, this indicates that each msg. is in a window by itself. : : When I open a digest, all the msg.s are listed in one window and you scroll up/down to view the titles. : I need a detailed step by step account of how you get to these digest msg.s . : : If you are interested, there is a very simple, fast way to extract these msg.s from the digest so you will not have to : deal with them in digest form (for OE 5+ only) . The steps required is no more than what is required to open an : individual msg. from the digest and once extracted, they are no different than any other single email msg., one click to : read contents. : Bob Hays : _________________________________ : : ----- Original Message ----- : From: "Timothy Braswell" <[email protected]> : To: <[email protected]> : Sent: Friday, April 13, 2001 10:47 AM : Subject: [OE] Tiny little slits : : : > I have my OE5.5 set to list incoming mail without opening...in case of : > viruses, etc. : > When the digests from rootsweb arrive, some times the titles in the boxes : > are in very narrow slits, and I can hardly hit the titles to open the : > messages. Wish I had an answer ,,,,, I have tried every thing I know to duplicate your problem but cannot. The only thing I can figure is you have a border line bad file. The first thing to try is run the IE Repair utility: Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs / Install/Uninstall tab ,, from the list of installed programs, select "Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and Internet Tools" ,, click on the Add/Remove button ,, select the "Repair Internet Explorer" option ,, click OK The utility will either go all the way through or it will abort with an error msg. ,,, record all the details of any error msg. If this does not fix it, try replacing MLANG.DLL ,,, this file is causing OE problems in OE6 and could have gotten corrupt in your system. Go to C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM ,,, find MLANG.DLL ,, COPY it to another folder (for a backup) then go to : http://drd.dyndns.org/dll/winme/_index.html and download that version of MLANG.DLL ( 5.50.4134.100 ) ,,,,,,, replace the one you now have with this new one and see if it corrects your problem. The best way to swap out files is to use SFC ,,,,Start / Run ,, type in SFC ,, run it ,,,,,,,, select the "Extract one file " option ,,, type in mlang.dll for file to restore ,,,, click on Start ,,,, click on Browse for location to "Restore from:", and navigate to folder where you downloaded MLANG.DLL into (all you need is the Folder, not the file itself) .,,, check that the "Save file in:" window says " C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM" ,,,,, click OK ,,,,,,,, if successful ,, Reboot. If this works ,,, then delete that backup copy, it is no good. Please Forward one of those digests to me.
