You may have a corruption error in your Sent Items folder To try to fix it, try this. Click File/Work Offline so that no mail checking will take place. Now click File/Folder/Compact All Folders and go get a cup of coffee while it works. Do *NOT* interrupt it or you may compound the corruption error and make the file unreadable. If you get an error message while compacting, close OE, wait a few seconds and repeat the process. Should that fail, shut down OE ,, go to C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Mail ,,, find Sent Items.dbx and rename it to ,,, Sent Items.dbx.old ,,,, restart OE, a new Sent Items.dbx folder will be built ,,see if it now works ,,, if it does and there are msg.'s in the old one you need to recover, go to http://chattanooga.net/~scochran/DBXtract.htm ,, download DBXtract ,, Complete instructions on the use of DBXtract will also be there. ,,,,, Copy or Move the old Sent Items.dbx.old file into the same folder where DBXtract is located ,, rename it back to Sent Items.dbx and use DBXtract to recover its' msg.'s ,, when finished, you can delete the old file.
