    3. Dee, are you using the right mouse button in an empty space within My Documents and then arranging icons by name there? I am not sure that is what you are saying here. I use IE 5.5 and have no problem keeping My Documents in alphabetical order using this method. 3. My document folder file icons/lists are constantly disordering themselves (un-alphabetizing themselves). They do this almost immediately after I have been thru the "resort the icons" by name procedure. Does anyone know how to make the "File View" settings stick so my folders/files will stay alphabetized. I have tried all the "Start, Settings, Folder Options" view settings to no avail. It doesn't help to apply and restart either. This all seemed to start about the time I installed IE 5.5. Has anyone else been bothered by this. Really is a pain! Dee

    1. Re: [OE] Click Art - putting onto an email
    2. Pat
    3. Dee, I have some of those animated signatures I bought from a lady on the internet and she told me how to use them. I also found that I could use my animated clipart the same way in an e-mail. You open an e-mail, click on format, then rich text. Put your cursor where you want the clickart, then click on insert and picture. A box will open and ask for the source of your picture, if not sure, click on browse and find them. If you can't find your clickart through browse, you will have to find out and put that in. After you click on the one you want, click OK and it should put it where your cursor is. That's how I do my animated signatures. Good Luck. 3. If you got an error message concerning the file OLE2NLS.DLL when FTW refused to open, it is not a virus, that is a bug that has been in FTW since ver. 5. ,,, Otherwise: 1. Do you get anykind of error message, if so, exactly what does it say. 2. What does FTW and/or computer do ,,, (freeze ,, computer lock up ,,, little man pop up on the screen and giggle at you <G>) 3. We need more DETAILED input from you. I do not understand the Sort problem , (the First name & then the Last name part). I also have the latest ver. and it does not allow me to sort based on my selection of words in the "From" column. ,,, The identifier labels at the top of each column is not only to identify the column but is also a Sort button, click on this button and the whole column is resorted (ascending / descending), this will also change all the other columns ,,,, click on the "Received" column and all messages will be sorted according to time received, click on it again to reverse the sort. If this is not your problem, then we need more information: 1. Are you the only one who use this computer. 2. How did you set it up to sort on First name or Last name within any one column. 3. Does OE perform OK otherwise. 4. Are you confusing "Sort" with "Message Rules" 5. We need more DETAILED input from you. I have also had the username and password problem and 99.99999% of the time it is the fault of my ISP having a problem, when they get their problem fixed, mine goes away. The fact that yours is "sometimes" indicates something along these lines. Otherwise ::: 1. When it does accept your username and password, does everything else work OK. 2. Can you correlate the onset of these problems with any other event that took place on your computer. 3. Do you get anykind of error message just before or at the time of abnormal behavior. 4. We need more DETAILED input from you. Overall: 1. We need more DETAILED input from you. 2. Do all three problems occur during the same computer session. 3. None of us out here have any clue as to how you or other family members use your computer; therefore, we need nit-picking details about the problem, including the sequence of events, wording of error messages, how did you get out of the fix you found yourself in, etc., ect. . ,,,, After much correspondence with a person a while back about why their CD tray didn't work anymore, come to find out that their teenage son ALWAYS closed it by shoving it in with his foot (among other abusive treatment) ,,,, just threw this in to give some idea how difficult it is to troubleshoot someone else's computer while blind folded. 1. Re: [OE] How to print a web page?
    2. Robert Hays
    3. Printing selected parts of a web page can get to be very tricky, ,,,, sometimes can't at all ,,,, I hit one of these last night and had to use my graphics program and its' "Capture" feature to get only what I wanted ,,, even then, had to do two Captures and piece the two together to make one image. For starters, it is VERY seldom that a person wants to print out ***ALL*** the garbage and ad's on a web page. You can exclude these from printing by changing this option in IE ,,,,,,,, Tools / Internet Options / Advanced tab ---> down to "Printing" and un-check the "Print background colors and images" ,,,, this will print only the main body of the page. Highlighting on a web page can be very tricky ,, you must place your courser at just the right spot (up/down & lf/rt ) to HL only the part you want and sometimes requires numerous attempts, trying various drag starting points. ,,, when you do get the correct area HL'ed , here is a TIP you may not know about ,,,,, even though you have an area HL'ed, if you click on the printer on your tool bar, it will still print the entire page ,,,,, BUT, if you click on File / Print (upper left), you will get a print menu that will allow you to select "Print selection" only ,,, this will print only what you have selected (highlighted) . If its' an object you want off the page ,,, Right click on it and select the "Save Target As" option and save it to your disk ,,, from there you can double click on it to display it and print it. (this works most of the time, sometimes not ,,, depends on the format it is in and whether it is the actual image or just a link to the image). 3. I believe it did say what the virus/worm was that it caught. The messages are not show AT ALL until after Norton is finished. When the messages come in, Norton filters them and then if nothing is found, it allows them to go through. I got the message, I deleted it and then Norton placed the rest of the messages in my email program. Which WAS NOT Outlook Express. 1. Re: [OE] kak virus ...the aftermath
    2. Ed Heral
    3. I did not look to see. <G> My understanding from the Symantec site is that this worm comes in the message as a signature file or whatever and opening the message activates the worm. Here is what Symantec says about the Kak worm VBS.KakWorm spreads using Microsoft Outlook Express. It attaches itself to all outgoing messages via the Signature feature of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer newsgroup reader. The worm utilizes a known Microsoft Outlook Express security hole so that a viral file is created on the system without having to run any attachment. Simply reading the received email message will cause the virus to be placed on the system. So it isn't in the message as being part of the message, but as a signature type attachment it will be activated when the message is opened. Therefore I deleted it instead of seeing just how it came. It was a reply message from someone I had sent a message to. They found it and deleted it on their computer.
