Elizabeth, You can go to the headers, highlight what you want and then press Control and C and it works the same as copy and paste. I just tried it to be sure. Hi Carol, I was fairly certain that OE did not have the option, but someone had suggested the it did. I think the envelopes unnerve a lot of people. Perhaps in OE 6 <smile>. Elaine, Do you mean inline viewing of files/images attachments? In Netscape, you do have a choice of viewing of attachments as inline or as packaged files. In OE you do not have that choice. I have found that OE has compensated for this by allowing the user the option of using the preview pane. I can view any html file or image file within my mail. Other file types are clickable - and then saveable. The only thing I wish OE would do is to allow me to read my RootsWeb email list mail as inline links (sigh!) rather than as one email with many attachments. It seems to be something with RW because I receive digest mode from other mail lists providers (egroups.com, listbot.com) and the mail doesn't arrive as several attachments but as one email with inline links. Well Dee ,,, I am at a loss as to why your files/folders will not stay alphabetized. I have experimented with mine all day and half the night and which ever way I sort them is the way they stay until I change them. In the absence of a fix, there is an undocumented feature in Win98 you might try. It will not fix your problem but may make it easier to deal with. When in any window displaying Folders and/or Files, press any key on your keyboard and your courser will instantly jump to the first/next Folder/File who's name starts with the character of the key you pressed. Continue to press the same key to jump from one Folder/File to the next. Hope this at least helps a little bit. Hi Pat ,,,, I also have just installed Ver 5.5. My Add/Remove shows only one (1) Outlook Express 5. I have also searched my disk and cannot find two (2) installed versions of OE. Hi, I installed my new 5.5 explorer and internet tools last night. Now in settings, in add and remove programs, I find the one I installed last night, 5.5 with internet tools and there's also another Outlook Express 5. Is the Outlook Express 5 the old version? and if so, can I remove it without hurting the other application? I think I can but would like to know for sure before I do. Thanks. Pat
Naturally you cannot alphabetize the C:\My Documents folder from the "Save As" window, that must be done from within the My Documents folder itself. One thing comes to mind here, when you say "not alphabetized", just how do you mean this. ,,,, If you choose to sort by Name, then they will be alphabetized by ascending or descending order, sort by anything else and the file/folder name will be in a shotgun order. I hate icons, so never use them if I don't have to which is why I have my "View" set up to show "Details". This gives me a sort button at the top of each column that can be used to instantly resort according to whatever I am interested in. They are also arranged top to bottom rather than up/down & left to right. Right click on START, click on Explore ,, go to your My Documents folder ,,,, click on View / Folder Options / View tab ,,,, look down the list of options for "Remember each folders view settings" and make sure there is a check mark in its little box. Recheck ,,,, View / Arrange Icons and select "By Name" ,,,,, ===> File / Close out of there. Lets see what happens Bob Hays ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dee" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, July 22, 2000 3:36 PM Subject: Re: [OE] Folders will not stay alphabetized > When I am sending an email such as this to My Documents, I go to file > and click "save as" and then comes up a dialog box. When I am sending an email such as this to My Documents, I go to file and click "save as" and then comes up a dialog box. There is no "File" and "Close" on this. I only go to the correct file that it is to be saved in -- which happens to not be alphabetized is why I'm screaming for help. The same thing when I file a document I click "save" or "save as" and then comes up a dialog box which is alphabetized, but in this case, it is not so I have to re-alphabetize it. And in my case I have subdirectories, so I have to re-alphabetize twice to get to my folder. So, to reiterate: going to file and close, doesn't work in my case. I don't understand how it does in your case. What to do!
