    2. Diana Boothe
    3. Hi Everyone, I hope that all of you, today, have halfway recovered from yesterday, though I know our lives will never be the same. I appreciate all of you who have responded, and I am anxious to hear from more of you. But, I'm afraid, it's time to get back to the matters at hand. After 5:00 p.m. (CDT) today, all responses about yesterday, should be directed to me, personally, or if you would like to continue to correspond amongst each other, I have started a new list, at Yahoo-Groups, strictly dealing with this issue. That way, this list can continue on with it's research. I look forward to hearing from each and every one. You will find my address at the end of any and all postings. It is [email protected] This is FAR from over, and my prayers continue for everyone involved in this disaster. I continue to hope that our members and their families, are all safe, my heart goes out to all. I just ask that personal messages, now, be redirected. Take care, Diana List Mom for the ACHOR, ACHORD, ARKANSAS, AR-CIVIL-WAR, ARKANSAS-RAILROADS, CANCER-SUPPORT, ESSEX-SURNAME, LAKEY, OBER, OUTLOOK-EXPRESS, PEOPLES, SHATSWELL, STODGHILL, TELEVISION, VIOLIN-MAKERS, WOODWORKERS, and WORZ mailing lists.

    3. I have microsoft internet explorer and when I click on favorites a line comes up that says organize favorites. Which is great EXCEPT each time it organizes it makes another group. How would I get them into one list. Both lists are alphapatized but I would like them all in one list.

    3. I've been a user of Netscape and its ancestors since before there was an Internet Explorer, but occasionally I think about changing to Outlook Express. The main issue I have with OE-5 is that I can't scroll down through all of the Digent-mode attachments as I can in Netscape; OE requires that I open each attachment individually, and I've read in the archives that there seems to be no way around that inconvenience. Does anyone know if OE 6 (comes with IE6) has caught up with Netscape in this respect? Or is there something I've missed about OE5?

    3. Hi George ,,, if you are using OE V5 or 5.5 you can dbl. click on the digest ,,, in the small window, highlight all the msg.'s or just the ones you want, then left click on them and Drag & Drop into any of your regular Folders. You must drag & Drop, nothing else works ,,, when you do this, it "extracts" the msg.'s from the digest and turns them into individual msg.'s just like all your other email msg.'s. Other than this or viewing in Properties, there is nothing else that can be done. 3. 1 in OE at least up to 5.5 you cant - they are not really attachments , if you have seen digest in other mail programs digest can view different. Rootsweb digest wont pack a virus any way. 2 it might be a change on 6.0, I did not get involved in ver 6, and I have heard a few who already dont like it. I dont think OE ever had any other way, when I used Eudora ( an older version) it was just inline messages With anti virus in place and your security setting where they should be, also updates patch's you should not worry. I have never heard of any one getting a virus from Rootsweb , but from mail passed in private , might even have rootsweb looking connections but was not from ( their) servers. If you want to have digest in some other form you might try a different mail client. Dan For Virus/Spam/Firewall/HELP on Win or Outlook Express up dates on patch's see my links http://www.wvi.com/~wb/VirusHelp.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Mathis" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 07, 2001 7:09 AM Subject: [OE] Digest Mode > And Dan wrote: > > >snip>

    3. But, but, but..............DAN!! I don't have the preview pane set to open.............don't like it, not one bit......but TRUST me..............upon downloading the e-mail from my server, it also (apparently) opens the attachment, otherwise I wouldn't get Norton's pretty red and yellow screen that says it has found a really pretty virus..........got 3 BadTrans yesterday and a Snow White the day before........if it doesn't OPEN the attachment when downloading, how does Norton know it's there BEFORE I open it?? 3. Hi I would like to subscribe to the list using the Digest mode but what happens is that I get the digest as a bunch of attachments and have to open each one in order to read it. The only way around it, that I know of, is to highlight the first attachment and press CTRL-F3 to view it from the source mode. Most inconvenient. Is there a setting that will allow the Digest mode to arrive fully open so I can browse it like any other piece of mail? My Netscape at work does it just fine and if I forward from NS to OE I can read it just fine. I tried to find the answer in the archives with no success. What is the solution? George

    3. I would like to know the answer to this one, as well.................especially since I don't really like to receive "attachments" and I could block them in OE, if it were not for my digests......does anyone have an answer for us?? Also, another question...........since my provider has recently decided to switch to a "pop3" server........I now have no choice but to download EVERYTHING in my mailbox. This also has a nasty habit of opening the attachments upon download, anyway to change that?? This is not good where viruses are concerned.................. I also now have 52 lists and am on 68 or more and have never had 1 problem with OE other than running it with 2 gigs in my mail folders or trying to build too many folders , if you want to learn how to tax it past its limits , I have done that <G> With the security settings , up dated patches , anti virus programs there is nothing much to worry about .
