Figuring this just about had to be Lotta's mother, I poked around a bit more. California death index states that Lillie B Kelsey, maiden name Duke, born 26 Oct 1866 Iowa, died 20 Nov 1954, Placer County, CA. Mother's maiden name was Burge. 1910 Federal Census of South Dakota, Lawrence County, Terry TWP, ED 38, page 27, sheet 5A, household 93, family 102. Kelsey Clarence, head, 47, m2 5 years, IL VT NH, Hotel Keeper -- Lilly, wife, 43, m2 5 years, 3 children, 3 living, IA OH IA Hird Lotty, daughter, 22, s, SD ENG IA Kelsey Martha, daughter, 2, s, SD IL IA Northen Elmes [difficult reading this name], sister, 67, m1, OH VT NH So... Lotta & Fred were married after April 1910. And despite the birthplace listed, this is very likely your Fred, three pages away.
