There is no death index for Oregon til after 1903 and then it is sketchy til about 1920. Try putting his name, Mark Hoffman, into the Oregon Archives name search site and see if there is any listing for a probate for him. If not try land records at McMinnville for Yamhill co. and the Washington co. courthouse, I believe that is Hillsboro. Good luck
